Nov. 11th, - 10:00 am - 11:30 am ET, In person with Zoom option
Aphasia is a language disorder that occurs after neurological disruption such as a stroke or head injury. It occurs suddenly and disrupts the person's ability to comprehend and/or express language. It also can impair a person's ability to read and write. Over 2 million people in the United States have aphasia, yet it is unfamiliar to most people. This experience will present what aphasia looks like, how it is diagnosed and treated, and how to best interact with people with aphasia. We will have group discussions and provide helpful resources.
